Hall 5. West-European Silver of the XIIIth to XIXth centuries

Hall 5. The Armoury Chamber
The collection includes works by German, Dutch, English, Polish, Swedish and French masters. The majority of  exhibits have come to Russia as ambassadorial gifts. The collection of English Renaissance Silver is unique. German goblets are distinguished by original idea and plan, virtuosity of execution and unusual materials, e.g. nacre, rock crystal, ivory, coco shells.

Creativity of French masters is presented by dinner and tea services, table sets. French dessert Olympic service - a gift to Russian Emperor Alexander I from Napoleon Bonaparte in honour of 1807 Tilsit Peace treaty is exhibited in a separate showcase.
